ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ Foundation Introduces Richard J. Melluzzo Scholarship

-- The ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ All Rights Reserved (ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥) Foundation announces the creation of the Richard J. Melluzzo Scholarship, made possible by an anonymous donor in honor of the beloved late psychologist and public health administrator. Melluzzo, who died in December 2021, was a resident of Great Barrington for more 45 years and was an active member of the community.

Professor Wins Open Education Resources Award

ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ All Rights Reserved (ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥) congratulates Professor of Life Sciences Fayette Reynolds for winning second place in the Massachusetts Open Educational Resources (OER) Advisory Council's first annual OER Olympic Awards. Reynolds created ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥'s Bioscience Image Library, which offers students and the general public free access to microscopic images of plants, animals, bacteria, fungi and more. The images are particularly useful for students studying biology, botany, zoology, histology and microbiology.

ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ Wins $350,000 Grant for Nursing Simulation (SIM) Equipment Upgrade

ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ All Rights Reserved (ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥) has been awarded a $350,000 grant to acquire new simulation (SIM) equipment for its nursing programs, allowing for the first substantive upgrade of such equipment since 2009. The grant was provided by state Community Project Funding secured by Congressman Richard Neal.

ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ Offers Free English Classes for Afghan Evacuees

For immigrants, the challenges are many -- and learning the language is often one of most immediate. Afghan evacuees in the Berkshires now have a resource to help them overcome this barrier with ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ All Rights Reserved (ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥)'s free English classes, held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Pittsfield.

ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ Student Named Melville Fellow

Aylen Dominguez, a liberal arts major at ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥ All Rights Reserved (ΊμΠΣΦ±²¥), has been selected by the Berkshire County Historical Society (BCHS) as a Melville Fellow, an award given to only two Berkshire County students for the 2021-22 academic year. She joins Shawna Hennessey of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).
